Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s Foreign Minister, said that Moscow has no intention of directly intervening in or entering the negotiation process between the United States and Iran, and hopes that the talks will be successful.
Lavrov made these remarks on Monday, 28 Sawr, after meeting with Simeón Oyono Esono Angüe, the foreign minister of Equatorial Guinea, during a press conference. He stated that Russia does not want to interfere in the negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
He made these comments at a time when political, economic, and security relations between Iran and Russia have expanded significantly in recent years. However, it still remains unclear to what extent Moscow would support Tehran in the event of a possible direct war between the United States and Iran.
Russia’s position comes as tensions between Tehran and Washington have increased, and concerns about the possibility of a new war have also risen due to the suspension of negotiations.
