Pakistani media have reported that a number of civilians were killed and injured in two coordinated suicide attacks in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The incident occurred in a busy area and has renewed concerns about the security situation in the province.
According to the reports, the attackers, allegedly affiliated with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), targeted a civilian vehicle and an ambulance. The attacks were reportedly carried out almost simultaneously within a short span of time.
As a result of the incident, at least seven people were killed and five others sustained serious injuries. The condition of several of the wounded has been described as critical, raising fears that the death toll may increase.
Local sources told Pakistani media that security forces were deployed to the scene immediately after the explosions and launched search, clearance, and security operations to bring the situation under control.
No group has officially claimed responsibility for the attacks so far. However, media reports suggest that the incident may be linked to armed militant groups operating in the region. Bannu has witnessed several similar attacks in recent years, and this latest incident has once again heightened concerns about the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
