Reliable sources have informed media outlets that a new package of U.S. financial aid arrived in Kabul today, Sunday.
According to the sources, the package contained approximately 80 million U.S. dollars in cash, which was transferred to Kabul’s military airport via a special flight. Sources said that the transfer of these financial packages has continued regularly in recent weeks, with similar aid shipments reportedly arriving in Kabul almost every Sunday.
The sources added that these transfers are taking place while Afghanistan is facing a severe economic crisis, widespread poverty, and rising unemployment. However, no clear details have yet been released regarding how these funds are being spent or which institutions are receiving them.
In recent years, the arrival of cash dollar shipments into Afghanistan has consistently triggered widespread domestic and international reactions. Critics say the lack of transparency in the distribution process has increased concerns about the possible political and security-related use of these financial resources.
Meanwhile, the Taliban have repeatedly emphasized that these funds are provided within the framework of humanitarian projects and support for the people of Afghanistan. Nevertheless, some political groups and monitoring organizations believe that part of the aid indirectly benefits the ruling authorities.
Economic experts warn that continuing cash assistance without establishing transparent oversight mechanisms will not only fail to resolve Afghanistan’s economic crisis, but could also contribute to increased corruption and greater economic dependency.
This comes as multiple reports in recent months have also indicated the continued transfer of cash funds by certain international organizations to Kabul, while questions remain regarding the fate and use of these aid packages.
