Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban Foreign Minister, stated that negotiations between the delegation of the group and Pakistan are still ongoing in the city of Urumqi, China.

Muttaqi said today (Sunday, March 21) at the opening of the “Afghanistan-Central Asia Consultative Talks” in Kabul that the Taliban are participating in these negotiations with “sincerity and a solution-oriented approach.”

He added that the Taliban have always “sought to resolve issues through mutual understanding, dialogue, and relationships based on respect and mutual comprehension, but they also maintain the right to defend their territorial integrity and their people.”

The Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Sunday that the group had sent a delegation to Urumqi, China, for talks with Pakistan.

The Ministry further added that these negotiations are being held at the initiative and request of China.

Pakistani media had previously reported on the organization of these talks, stating that they were planned during the visit of the Chinese representative to Kabul and Islamabad.

The conflict between the Taliban and Pakistan has been ongoing for about one and a half months.

During this time, various countries have called on both sides to cease hostilities and resolve their issues through dialogue.

So far, no details have been released regarding the progress of negotiations between the two sides in Urumqi, China.
