Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan V and the Imam of the Ismaili Muslims, arrived in Pakistan for a six-day official visit. This marks his first official trip to Pakistan since the beginning of his Imamat in February 2025.
Asif Ali Zardari, the President of Pakistan, along with the First Lady, welcomed Aga Khan V at PAF Base Nur Khan in Islamabad. During the reception ceremony, several children dressed in traditional Pakistani clothing also welcomed the distinguished guest by presenting flowers.
Pakistani officials described the visit as a sign of the close and historic relations between Pakistan and the Ismaili community. According to them, the presence of Aga Khan V could help expand cooperation in the fields of development, education, healthcare, and culture.
According to the announced schedule, Prince Rahim Al-Hussaini will meet with senior Pakistani officials, leaders of the Ismaili community, and representatives of development institutions during the visit. These meetings will focus on discussions about cooperation projects and humanitarian programs.
The Ismaili community in Pakistan operates one of the country’s most active social and development networks, and institutions affiliated with the Aga Khan have played a major role in education, healthcare, and rural development in Pakistan over the past decades.
