The Afghanistan Freedom Front has announced that its forces carried out a guerrilla attack on Taliban positions in the center of the Wayeگل district of Nuristan province.
On Wednesday, 3 Saratan, the group claimed in a message published on its X page that the attack took place early the previous morning and lasted about 20 minutes.
According to the Freedom Front’s claim, light and heavy weapons were used in the operation, and its forces targeted Taliban positions.
The group also claimed that the attack inflicted heavy casualties and significant damage on Taliban forces. However, it did not provide details regarding the number of potential casualties, and the Taliban had not responded to these claims at the time of publication.
The Freedom Front added that its participating forces sustained no injuries and that all members safely withdrew from the area after the operation.
In recent months, the Freedom Front has repeatedly reported carrying out attacks against Taliban forces and affiliated centers in various parts of Afghanistan. These claims come at a time when the Taliban have, in many cases, either denied such attacks or refrained from commenting on them.
The Freedom Front also claimed yesterday that it targeted Taliban morality police in Kabul city.
The increase in such claims comes as the Taliban consistently assert that they have ensured nationwide security in Afghanistan. However, reports concerning the activities of armed opposition groups continue to keep the country’s security situation in the spotlight.
