Reports indicate that in Kabul, a small Afghan national flag placed beside the grave of former Afghanistan national cricket player Shapoor Zadran by an Afghan woman has been removed.
Several social media users have questioned which part of Afghanistan’s national flag is considered to be in conflict with national and Islamic principles, and why it was removed from the gravesite.
Shapoor Zadran was one of the prominent players of Afghanistan’s national cricket team, and throughout his sporting career, he represented the country in international competitions under the Afghan national flag.
So far, Taliban officials have not issued any official statement regarding the removal of the national flag from his grave.
