The Taliban procurement commission, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, has approved 21 projects worth approximately 6.5 billion Afghanis during its regular meeting.
According to the commission, 34 projects were submitted for approval. Following a review, 21 projects were approved, while amendments and revisions were requested for 12 others.
In the case of another project, a committee has been tasked with negotiating the project’s price with the winning company and presenting the outcome to the commission.
The approved projects include the rehabilitation of the Managi power dam in Kunar, the procurement of scanners for customs facilities at the airports of Kabul, Herat, Nangarhar, Balkh, and Khost, the construction of a specialist hospital in Helmand, and the construction of general hospitals in the districts of Shughnan, Chak, and Qala-e-Zal.
The commission also approved several other electricity transmission and distribution projects in various provinces.
The Taliban Procurement Commission said that the costs of the approved projects will be financed from the budget of the Taliban administration.
