Local authorities in Paktika province say that three young men have died following a drowning incident in the Urgun district of the province.
According to the Paktika Police Command, the incident occurred in the Dahna area of Urgun district. Based on the information provided, two young men first drowned in a pond.
Officials added that a third young man entered the water to rescue the two, but he also drowned and lost his life.
According to the authorities, the bodies of the victims were recovered from the water with the cooperation of police forces and local residents.
Available information indicates that the three young men were originally residents of Ziruk district and were living in Urgun district.
The increase in similar incidents in some provinces has raised concerns about the lack of rescue facilities and safety measures in water areas.
