The Taliban in Nangarhar province announced on Sunday that lightning struck a house in Mahmand Dara, Nangarhar, resulting in the death of a child and injuries to a woman and two other children.
In a separate incident in the Batikot district, a large tree fell during a severe storm and struck a woman, causing her death.
The Taliban’s statement also said that heavy rainfall and storms in various parts of Nangarhar have caused significant damage to agricultural lands.
