The United Afghanistan front said in a statement on Friday, 23 Asad, that its forces had carried out three operations against Taliban forces in Helmand and Kandahar provinces over the previous 24 hours.
According to the statement, in the first operation, which took place in the Taliban police’s First District in Lashkar Gah, two Taliban police members were killed and two others were wounded.
The front also claimed that, in another operation in the Bolan area of Lashkar Gah’s Seventh District, two additional Taliban members were targeted.
The statement further said that United Afghanistan Front forces carried out a targeted operation in Daman district of Kandahar province, in which one Taliban member was targeted.
The United Afghanistan Front claimed that those targeted in the attacks had been involved in the detention, torture, and killing of security and defense personnel of Afghanistan’s former government.
The front provided no further details about the condition of those targeted in the operations, and it remains unclear whether the attacks resulted in any additional casualties or damage.
As of the publication of this report, local Taliban officials in Helmand and Kandahar provinces had not commented on the claims made by the United Afghanistan Front.
