The Taliban-opposing group known as the “United Front” has claimed that it killed a member of the Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice in Matakhan District of Paktika Province.
In a statement, the group said the attack was carried out by its operational team on Monday evening, August 24, in the Trokhailo area of Matakhan District.
The United Front claimed that the slain individual was involved in harassing and “humiliating” young people and women in Paktika.
The Taliban have so far made no official statement regarding the attack or the reported killing of one of their members, and have not confirmed the United Front’s claim.
The United Front’s armed activities have reportedly been ongoing since August this year as part of operations the group has announced against the Taliban.
