According to information from the Taliban’s media office in Balkh province, a meeting was held in Sar-e Pol province under the leadership of Yousuf Wafa, the governor of Balkh, attended by governors, police chiefs, and other senior officials from five northwestern provinces.
The meeting took place yesterday, during which the security situation, inter-agency coordination, and the implementation of the Taliban leader’s orders were discussed. According to the Balkh media office, the participants decided that all laws of the previous republican system are canceled, and from now on, only the laws issued by the Taliban administration will be enforced.
The meeting emphasized that all forms of “negative propaganda” against the government must be strictly prevented. Officials warned that anyone promoting anti-Taliban messages through mosque sermons, media, or public gatherings would be prosecuted by military courts.
The decisions also stated that leaving Afghanistan under the pretext of “jihad” and joining other armed groups must be prevented, and such actions are only permitted with the leader’s authorization.
Other topics discussed at the meeting included removing beggars from the streets, eliminating narcotics, and teaching the ideological book of the Taliban leader in all government offices.
Yousuf Wafa, the governor of Balkh, asked participants to implement the orders of Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban leader, first on themselves and then within their respective institutions. He also requested that imams and religious school officials encourage people to pledge allegiance to the Taliban leader.
Officials from the northwestern provinces of Sar-e Pol, Jowzjan, Samangan, Faryab, and Balkh participated in this meeting.
