Zakir Jalali, the Taliban’s Second Political Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has stated that Afghanistan and Tajikistan need an active diplomatic presence in Kabul and Dushanbe, respectively, and expressed hope that recent engagements between the two countries will lead to stronger bilateral relations.
Jalali emphasized that the presence of an active Tajik diplomatic mission in Kabul and an Afghan diplomatic representation in Dushanbe is essential for the development of relations between the two sides. According to him, expanding such interactions could create opportunities for advancing bilateral cooperation.
He further expressed hope that the recent discussions and engagements between Afghanistan and Tajikistan would, in the near future, contribute to improving bilateral relations and help identify solutions to the existing challenges between the two countries.
