Local sources in Samangan province report that a young man named Nasrullah Rasouli has been mysteriously murdered in Aibak, the provincial capital.
The Taliban police command in Samangan confirmed the incident, stating that the man was suffocated to death by unidentified person or persons at midnight on Friday, July 24 (2 Asad), within the jurisdiction of Police District 2 in Aibak city.
According to a press release from the police command, Nasrullah Rasouli's body was transferred to Samangan Provincial Hospital for further investigation.
Authorities stated that the motive behind the murder remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest the perpetrator or perpetrators.
Local sources noted that Nasrullah Rasouli was a resident of Darah-ye Zindan village in Aibak and had recently been employed at the Samangan Education Department. Sources added that alongside his role at the education department, he was also working as a tailor.
