The deputy commander of the Taliban’s 201st Khalid bin Walid Corps, Abdul Hakim Mohammad Nezami, has called on the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not to allow their areas to be used for activities against Afghanistan. He warned that if efforts are made from Pakistani territory to destabilize the current order in Afghanistan, the Taliban will respond through air and ground operations.
Nezami made the remarks while speaking at a ceremony in Nangarhar marking the fifth anniversary of the Taliban’s return to power. Addressing the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he urged them not to allow the “Pakistani military regime” to use their areas to undermine the current order in Afghanistan.
He said that the Taliban’s “cup of patience” with Pakistan had now overflowed, and warned that if any action were taken against Afghanistan, the Taliban would respond through various operations.
The Taliban military official also called on residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa not to allow their areas to be used for anti-Afghanistan activities. He added that individuals who establish centers in Pakistan for activities against Afghanistan would be targeted.
Nezami further warned that such centers would be destroyed, saying that the Taliban would not remain silent in the event of any action against Afghanistan.
The remarks by the deputy commander of the Taliban’s 201st Khalid bin Walid Corps come at a time when relations between Kabul and Islamabad have become increasingly strained in recent weeks due to Pakistani airstrikes on Afghan territory, security concerns, and mutual accusations.
