The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has released a video statement claiming responsibility for a rocket attack targeting Taliban positions in Laghman Province.
According to the group, its fighters launched the attack at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, against a Taliban outpost in the village of Qulak, located in the Noorlam Baba Valley of Alingar District, Laghman Province.
In its statement, the AFF said the assault began with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire and lasted for approximately 15 minutes.
The group claimed that the attack inflicted casualties on Taliban forces, although the exact number of those killed or wounded has not been specified.
The AFF also stated that none of its fighters were harmed during the operation.
Local Taliban authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident or the reported casualties. The details of the attack also could not be independently verified by the media.
The Afghanistan Freedom Front is one of the armed groups opposing the Taliban and has claimed responsibility for dozens of guerrilla attacks against Taliban forces and officials across Afghanistan since the group’s return to power.
