The Afghanistan national independence front has claimed that its forces targeted and killed Tajmir Jawad, the Taliban’s deputy head of the General Directorate of Intelligence, during an operation this evening near the Aino Mina roundabout in Kandahar city.
The front said the operation was “complex and pre-planned.” It described the incident as a warning to Taliban leaders and commanders, adding that it would continue its operations against the group.
The Afghanistan National Independence Front said it would continue its armed operations until the “overthrow” of the Taliban. The group also identified Taliban officials and forces as targets of its operations.
The Taliban have not yet commented on the front’s claim regarding the alleged killing of Tajmir Jawad. At present, there is no independent confirmation of the incident or the fate of the Taliban official.
