Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, says that Kuwait attacked one of the country’s vessels in the Persian Gulf and detained four Iranians.
Araqchi, on Wednesday evening (April 23), posted on X that “this illegal action took place near an island that the United States used to launch attacks on Iran.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister added, “We demand the immediate release of our citizens and reserve the right to respond.”
He did not specify exactly when the vessel was targeted.
Kuwait has been repeatedly targeted by Iranian missile and drone attacks since the U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran began, but it has not yet commented on the attack on the Iranian vessel.
