Local sources report that a shopkeeper was killed and his wife injured in an armed robbery in Old Baghlan city. According to the sources, the incident occurred on Tuesday, August 11.
The incident reportedly took place at around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. After entering the family’s home, the armed assailants opened fire on Samiullah, the shopkeeper, killing him.
Sources added that Samiullah’s wife was also injured during the attack. Her medical condition remains unclear, and no further information has been released regarding the extent of her injuries.
According to the sources, after shooting and killing the shopkeeper, the attackers took cash and gold belonging to the family before fleeing the scene.
No further information has so far emerged regarding the identities of the attackers, the motive behind the assault, or how they escaped. Authorities have also yet to comment on the incident or the identification of those responsible.
