Former Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Shapoor Zadran, the former fast bowler of Afghanistan’s national cricket team, describing him as one of the great heroes of Afghan cricket.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Ashraf Ghani wrote that during the difficult years when Afghan cricket was in its early stages of development, Shapoor Zadran brought pride to the country and joy to the people through his outstanding performances and tireless efforts.
He described Shapoor Zadran’s death as a major loss for Afghanistan’s cricket and said that his services and achievements would remain an enduring part of Afghanistan’s sporting history.
Ashraf Ghani extended his condolences to Shapoor Zadran’s family, relatives, and the people of Afghanistan, wishing them patience and offering prayers for Shapoor Zadran’s soul to rest in eternal paradise.
