Along the Durand Line between Khyber District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Durbaba District in Nangarhar, a brief clash occurred this afternoon, in which, according to sources, three Pakistani soldiers were injured. The Taliban have denied any involvement in the incident.
According to source information, the clash took place on Sunday, 14 Saratan, at around 4:30 p.m. in the Zakhikhail Taba Kando area of Khyber District. It is reported that both light and heavy weapons were used in the clash, although no information has yet been released regarding possible casualties on the opposing side.
Sources say one side of the clash consisted of Pakistani soldiers, but the identity of the opposing side has not been clarified. Meanwhile, the Taliban have stated that they had no involvement in the incident.
Local Pakistani security officials say the clash has ended, but the situation remains tense.
At the same time, some unconfirmed reports suggest that the incident may have occurred between Pakistani security forces and smugglers; however, neither Pakistani authorities nor the Taliban have made any official statements in this regard so far.
It is worth noting that following recent clashes between Pakistan and the Taliban along the Durand Line, major commercial crossings, including Torkham and Chaman, have been closed, while smugglers are attempting to transport essential goods across both sides through illegal routes.
