David Beckham, the former star of Manchester United and the England national football team, has become the first British athlete whose net worth has surpassed £1 billion, according to the Sunday Times Rich List 2026.
According to the list’s publishers, the combined wealth of David Beckham and his wife, Victoria Beckham, has reached approximately £1.185 billion this year, equivalent to $1.583 billion.
In this ranking, the couple is placed as the second wealthiest sports figures in the UK, with only the family of Bernie Ecclestone, former Formula One executive, ahead of them, with a fortune of around £2 billion.
David Beckham, who retired from football in 2013, is now one of the owners of Inter Miami, a club valued at approximately £1.07 billion and considered one of the most expensive teams in Major League Soccer.
The 51-year-old also earns significant income through advertising contracts and collaborations with international brands.
A large portion of Victoria Beckham’s wealth comes from her work in the fashion industry and her personal clothing brand. She previously gained worldwide fame as a member of the famous music group “Spice Girls.”
