The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has claimed responsibility for an attack on a Taliban military convoy in Dushi district of Baghlan province. According to the group, the convoy was traveling from Kabul to Badakhshan province, transporting personnel and military equipment.
In a statement released on Sunday, July 26 (4 Asad), the AFF said the attack took place on Saturday, July 25 (3 Asad). The group claimed that seven Taliban members were killed and six others wounded in the operation.
The AFF also stated that the convoy was en route to Badakhshan to deploy reinforcements and deliver military equipment. It further claimed that none of its fighters were injured during the attack.
The claim comes after local sources reported fighting on Saturday evening along the Kabul–Balkh Highway in Dushi district, Baghlan province. However, the Taliban have not yet commented on the incident and have neither confirmed nor denied the claims.
The attack comes amid escalating tensions in northeastern Afghanistan. On Friday, the Afghanistan Freedom Front also claimed responsibility for an attack on Taliban positions in Zebak district of Badakhshan province, alleging that 21 Taliban members were killed.
As clashes have intensified in Badakhshan, reports have emerged that the Taliban have deployed additional reinforcements to the province. According to reports, Fasihuddin Fitrat, the Taliban’s Chief of Army Staff, has also traveled to Zebak district to assess the security situation.
