UN Secretary-General António Guterres has expressed deep concern over the escalating crisis in the Middle East and has called on Tehran and Washington to return to a ceasefire.
According to the UN spokesperson, Guterres has urged all parties involved to adhere fully to the implementation of the ceasefire and to prevent the situation from deteriorating further.
He has warned that the continuation of violence could push the region toward a broader and full-scale war; therefore, de-escalation and the resumption of diplomatic efforts are essential.
