The Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic of Iran has announced that, under the Islamabad agreement, no tariffs or fees will be collected from vessels and parties transiting the Strait of Hormuz for a period of 60 days, and that these costs will be covered by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In its statement, the Council noted that, due to special circumstances and certain security-related risks, ships must operate in accordance with designated routes and schedules as announced. According to the statement, this measure is intended to ensure safe passage and prevent potential maritime incidents.
Iran emphasized that the purpose of these measures is to maintain safety and order in maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, in order to prevent any possible maritime accidents and to facilitate the gradual development of maritime traffic in the region.
