Iraqi officials say a cargo ship in the Persian Gulf was targeted in two separate attacks and was damaged as a result of explosions. According to reports, the incident occurred in the maritime area between Iraq and Kuwait, and the nature of the attack is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media, citing the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, reported that its forces targeted a vessel named “Sariska” with a cruise missile as part of retaliatory operations. According to Iran, this action was carried out in response to yesterday’s U.S. attack.
So far, no reports have been released regarding casualties or injuries among the ship’s crew, but maritime monitoring agencies say investigations into the incident are ongoing and the exact details of the attack have not yet been clarified.
