A military clash described as “serious” by various sources occurred between Iran and the United States in the Strait of Hormuz and along the coasts of Bandar Abbas and Qeshm. Both sides have accused the other of initiating the tension and have presented different accounts of the incident’s details.
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, stated that three American warships successfully passed through the Strait of Hormuz, and during this operation, Iranian missiles and drones were destroyed. Despite the clash, he emphasized that this incident does not constitute a violation of the ceasefire and expressed continued optimism about maintaining the agreement with Tehran.
In contrast, Iran, releasing images of strikes targeting the American warships, claimed that the action was in response to American forces attempting to seize an Iranian oil tanker. Iranian officials also asserted that the operation caused damage to the U.S. vessels.
Meanwhile, both sides, along with some residents of Qeshm and Bandar Abbas, have confirmed that areas in these coastal regions of the Persian Gulf were targeted. However, no detailed information has yet been released regarding the extent of damage or potential casualties.
