Iran has claimed in an official statement that it carried out a drone attack on the base of the U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
According to the Iranian military, the attack targeted and destroyed communication antennas and radar installations associated with the Fifth Fleet’s Patriot defense system.
At the same time, Iranian state media have released videos and images showing smoke rising near Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. These outlets claim that the smoke resulted from Iranian strikes.
So far, the U.S. government and military have not issued an official response to Iran’s claim, and no information has been released regarding potential damage.
According to reports, no independently verified information has yet been obtained regarding the details of the incident or the extent of the alleged damage.
