Summary

Mojtaba Khamenei, the new leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, said in a message marking Judiciary Week that the United States and Israel committed “crimes” during the wars of the Iranian years 1404 and 1405 (2025–2027), and called for these cases to be pursued in both domestic and international courts, with those responsible brought to justice.

Referring to what he described as “the violated rights of the Iranian nation,” he said that the deaths of individuals, the damage inflicted on Iran, attacks on medical and public service facilities, and what he characterized as the killing of children and war crimes should be pursued through “hundreds, if not thousands, of legal cases.”

The new leader of the Islamic Republic stressed that “the perpetrators must be held accountable and made to face the consequences of their criminal acts.” He also stated that, in his view, admissions and public statements made by certain American and Israeli officials regarding these attacks could serve as a legal basis for judicial proceedings.

The message further called on the Judiciary to extend the directive issued last year concerning the investigation of the “crimes of the Second Imposed War” to include the “Third Imposed War” as well, and to pursue these cases continuously through to the issuance and enforcement of verdicts. According to the message, he believes that such action could help prevent the recurrence of similar “crimes.”
