Local sources in Badakhshan province report the killing of a 12-year-old girl in the Raghistan district of the province.
According to the information provided, the girl was named Bibi Khadija, daughter of Noor Muhammad. Around noon on Thursday, 10th of Sawr, she was killed in the village of Deh-Gah Khaldesk in Raghistan district.
Relatives said that the incident occurred when Bibi Khadija went out to fetch drinking water. After about half an hour and her failure to return, her mother and sister went out to search for her.
They found her body near a water well in a secluded area. Local sources stated that signs of beating were visible on her body, and her throat had also been cut, which, according to the sources, caused severe bleeding and led to her death.
So far, the perpetrator or motive for this murder has not been officially determined, but some sources have suggested that the incident may have occurred with the motive of sexual abuse.
Following this incident, local Taliban have summoned the victim’s father for further information. Six people had been detained in connection with the case, but currently only one individual from a neighboring village remains in custody on suspicion of involvement in the killing.
