The Kremlin says Russia believes that U.S. President Donald Trump is sincere in his efforts to end the war in Ukraine and will wait for Washington’s new proposals.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that although the United States continues to supply weapons to Ukraine, Russia will persist in pursuing its objectives through the war.
Peskov said, “War is not our preferred path, but we see no hope for peace. We will continue until complete victory, while at the same time waiting for new U.S. proposals.”
He claimed that Trump and his negotiating team are seeking a solution acceptable to all parties, but according to him, Ukraine has rejected previous U.S. proposals.
The Kremlin spokesman placed responsibility for the continuation of the war on Ukraine’s European allies, saying they encourage Kyiv not to agree to a peace settlement.
Peskov criticized the U.S. position, saying Washington speaks of ending the war while simultaneously continuing to send weapons to Ukraine.
He added that Russia will maintain diplomatic contacts with the Trump administration, as peace efforts align with Moscow’s interests
