Manzoor Ahmad Pashtun, leader of the Pashtun Liberation Movement, says that the Pakistan Army continuously targets civilians in Pashtun areas, while international human rights organizations have remained silent in the face of these incidents.
In a recent video message, he stated that Sheikh Idris was killed about two weeks ago, but so far no genuine or transparent investigation has been conducted into his killing. According to him, such incidents have increased in Pashtun regions, yet the responsible authorities refuse to be held accountable.
Pashtun also strongly criticized the conduct of Pakistani police towards Afghan refugees, saying that many Afghan refugees are being detained and held in facilities that, according to him, resemble the “Guantanamo” prison.
He further added that a large portion of electricity and other natural resources is extracted from Pashtun areas, yet the people of these regions remain deprived of basic amenities and development services.
