Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the Taliban’s Minister of Defense, returned to Kabul today after participating in an international security conference hosted by Russia.
Mr. Mujahid had traveled to Moscow to attend the conference, which was held from May 26 to May 29.
Upon his arrival at Kabul International Airport, he was asked about the implementation of the military cooperation agreement between Afghanistan and Russia. He stated that practical work on the agreement would begin in the coming days.
He added: “Discussions and consultations will be held regarding this agreement to determine how it will be implemented and put into practice.”
The Moscow security conference was attended by senior security and defense officials from a number of regional and international countries. Issues related to security cooperation, regional developments, and bilateral relations were discussed during the event.
