Summary

In Surkh Rod District of Nangarhar Province and Jalalabad City, the Taliban’s Commission for Price Control and Prevention of Hoarding has shut down one brick kiln and four bakeries due to violations identified during market inspections.

According to the commission, the brick kiln in Surkh Rod District was closed for selling bricks above the officially approved price and for failing to display the official rate on invoices. Officials stated that violations of the established pricing regulations are unacceptable and that legal action will be taken against offenders.

Meanwhile, in the Kabul Hadda and Abdul Haq Mena areas of Jalalabad City, four bakeries were shut down for producing bread that was underweight and of substandard quality. Authorities said the measure was taken as part of efforts to monitor bakery operations and ensure the provision of bread that meets required standards for consumers.

The commission further noted that commitments had been obtained from several other bakery owners to refrain from repeating similar violations. In addition, shopkeepers in local markets were provided with guidance aimed at preventing hoarding and maintaining price stability.
