Summary

About 2.3 million candidates in India took part in the medical entrance examination on Sunday. The exam was conducted under extensive and unprecedented security measures and attracted significant national attention.

The re-examination was held after the initial session was cancelled due to widespread allegations of question paper leaks. The cancellation of the previous test had triggered widespread protests and raised concerns among candidates.

On the day of the rescheduled exam, candidates were subjected to biometric checks, thorough body searches, and the presence of security personnel around examination centres. In some regions, military forces were also responsible for the transportation of examination materials.

Organisers stated that more than 95,000 examination halls were equipped with CCTV cameras, and over 1.3 million cameras were operational across the country. In addition, extensive measures were implemented to prevent cheating and unauthorised communications.

Alongside these measures, thousands of security personnel, invigilators, and monitoring teams were deployed at examination centres. Reports also indicated restrictions on certain communication networks and strict controls around exam venues.

Despite these precautions, some candidates continued to express concerns about the future of the examination process and the recurrence of previous issues. One participant said that psychological pressure and the limited time available to prepare again had created difficult conditions for many students.
