Local sources in Badakhshan province report that the residence of Qari Fasihuddin, the Chief of Army Staff of the Taliban, was targeted by armed assailants this evening in Warduj district. According to these sources, the incident took place in the village of Yastarp (Ustarp), where the attackers opened fire from the surrounding heights.
Informants state that the gunmen fired upon Qari Fasihuddin's house using PK machine guns. However, further details regarding the specifics of the incident or potential property damage have not yet emerged.
