Summary

A number of residents of the Pul-e-Khoshk area in Dasht-e-Barchi, western Kabul, say that طالبان forces have demolished their homes and shops during road construction projects without their consent or compensation.

The residents told media outlets on Sunday, 27 Sawr, that the properties were privately owned, but were destroyed by force and without agreement from the owners as part of road reconstruction and expansion efforts. Some residents claim that in certain cases, طالبان forces entered the area at night and forced people to leave their homes.

Local sources also stated that, alongside the demolitions, residents were warned not to protest, raising concerns about the lack of transparency and public participation in urban development projects.

Meanwhile, some residents say that although infrastructure development in Kabul is necessary, the destruction of private property without compensation has created serious hardships for them.

On the other hand, some local sources confirm that road construction in parts of Dasht-e-Barchi has accelerated in recent days, resulting in the demolition of dozens of shops and houses along both sides of the road.

Residents emphasize that the continuation of this process, along with increasing dust and environmental problems, has led to growing dissatisfaction among people in the area.
