The United Nations Special Rapporteur on human rights for Afghanistan stated in a meeting at the French Parliament that the international community should focus more on Afghanistan’s future.
He noted that people inside Afghanistan are facing severe restrictions under the Taliban’s punitive policies, which have a profound impact on their daily lives and fundamental rights.
He emphasized that Afghans must be given hope and that international support should be organized in a way that protects the basic rights of the people and creates conditions for positive change in the future.
