Sarah Adams, a former employee of the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has rejected the Taliban’s claim regarding the death of Farishta Amadi and the assertion that it was a suicide, describing it as unreliable. She said that anyone who accepts the Taliban’s narrative is “very ignorant.”
In a post published on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Adams stated that the claim that Farishta Amadi committed suicide in a Taliban-controlled prison is not acceptable and should be viewed with skepticism.
These remarks come at a time when Wes Amadi, Farishta Amadi’s husband, said in an interview that his wife died by suicide. In a conversation with the Taliban-linked media outlet “Sadai Hindukush,” he stated that allegations claiming Farishta Amadi was killed by the Taliban are false.
Meanwhile, various and contradictory reports have been published regarding the death of Farishta Amadi. The United Nations has only confirmed her death but has not provided details regarding the circumstances.
To date, no independent, reliable, or comprehensive information has been released about the cause and manner of the incident, and many questions about the case remain unanswered.
