Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi, once again spoke about the occurrence of a “dollar war” in Pashtun areas, stating that those responsible for the deaths of police officers in the recent armed attack in Bannu are the people who “make decisions behind closed doors.”

On Monday, during his visit to Bannu district, he met with the families of the police officers who were killed. On May 9, a suicide attack targeted a police post in Bannu, resulting in the deaths of 15 Pakistani police officers and injuries to three others.

Without naming anyone, Sohail Afridi said that when armed groups were sent back to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, protests, peaceful rallies, and jirgas were organized to ensure that the security of the Pashtun areas would not be endangered again.

He added: “You may gain dollar profits, but do not count on my life; do not put a price on a Pashtun’s life in dollars, and do not impose another dollar war on us.”

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister claimed that those responsible for the orphaning of children in Bannu are the people “who make decisions behind closed doors,” and that due to these decisions, police officers, soldiers, civilians, and religious scholars are being killed.

He urged the Pashtuns to stand up for their own security, saying: “For the past 78 years, decisions have been made behind the scenes and imposed on us; we are being killed like sheep and goats.
