Local sources reported on Thursday, 13 August, that the Taliban carried out an airstrike on the positions of forces loyal to Jumakhon Fateh near the district center of Nusay District in Badakhshan Province.
According to the sources, two Taliban helicopters targeted the positions of Jumakhon Fateh’s forces in the Jisang area at around 11 a.m. on Thursday.
Jisang is located near the center of Nusay District and has witnessed clashes in recent days between Taliban forces and fighters affiliated with Jumakhon Fateh.
Local sources said the Taliban helicopters left the area after carrying out the airstrike, after which the group’s drones were seen patrolling the skies over Nusay.
No precise details have so far been released regarding the extent of damage or possible casualties resulting from the attack, and independent sources have not provided any information on the incident.
Local residents said fighting between the Taliban and forces affiliated with Jumakhon Fateh is still ongoing in parts of Nusay District.
According to information from local sources, the Taliban are continuing to deploy additional forces to Nusay District amid the clashes. However, the exact number of troops deployed and details of the military movements by either side remain unclear.
