Summary

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Taliban has announced that it has summoned representatives and officials of tourism and pilgrimage companies in connection with the illegal issuance of work visas for Turkey and other countries, as well as the activity of the black market.

The ministry stated that inquiries have been issued to these companies’ representatives in Kabul, and their activities are currently under review.

According to the ministry’s press release, written commitments have been taken from the summoned representatives, pledging that they will not collect money from people in relation to work visas, will cooperate with the ministry in investigating complaints, and will not engage in any illegal activities.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Labor emphasized that it will take serious measures to prevent the black market in work visas and that all violations will be pursued. Officials of the ministry said in a video message that special channels will be activated for registering complaints, and the cases of accused individuals will be referred to relevant authorities.

The Taliban have urged people not to fall victim to fraud and deception, and to never hand over their documents or money to any person, company, or unknown address. According to the statement, suspicious cases should be reported to legal authorities in order to prevent people from being deceived under the name of work visas.

Recently, concerns have increased that in Afghanistan, visas for Turkey, Pakistan, and Iran are being sold on the black market for thousands of dollars. There have also been criticisms of some tourism companies for taking money from people under the pretext of work visas but failing to provide the promised services.
