The Central Bank of Afghanistan said in a recent statement that the entry of regional currencies into Afghanistan is prohibited, and that all traders, money changers, transport companies, and travelers must take this decision seriously.
The statement urged relevant parties not to bring regional currencies into Afghanistan and instead to conduct all transactions exclusively in Afghanis in order to strengthen the national currency.
The Central Bank emphasized: “The Afghani is more stable than the currencies of neighboring countries. Conduct transactions only in Afghanis.”
This measure is aimed at maintaining monetary stability, preventing currency smuggling, and strengthening the value of the Afghani.
