The well-known and low-cost American airline, Spirit, has officially announced that it has ceased all operations after 34 years of activity.
The company, famous for its cheap ticket prices, had been struggling with severe financial issues and debts in recent years, which ultimately led to the decision to halt its operations.
With the release of this announcement, all flights of the airline were canceled, and as a result, thousands of passengers at various airports in the U.S. faced confusion and difficulties.
The closure of Spirit Airlines is considered a major shock to the U.S. aviation industry, as the company was the first choice for millions of people seeking affordable travel.
This comes while the airline had been attempting to merge with JetBlue Airways in an effort to save itself from the financial crisis, but the U.S. Department of Justice blocked the merger, which had a negative impact on the airline’s future.
