Indian media have reported that a Twenty20 cricket series between the national teams of Afghanistan and India is planned for September this year, with Afghanistan serving as the host. However, according to the reports, the matches are expected to be held in New Delhi.
According to these reports, neither the Afghanistan Cricket Board nor the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the series or confirmed its details so far.
The proposed series comes as the two teams have previously played only one Twenty20 series hosted by India.
Meanwhile, available information indicates that the Afghanistan national cricket team is currently in India, where it is preparing for the only Test match scheduled between the two countries, a fixture that forms part of the upcoming international cricket calendar.
