The New York Times has reported that U.S. President Donald Trump has taken a tougher stance regarding a potential agreement with Iran and has sent a revised version of the deal to Tehran. According to the report, Trump has concerns about the release of Iran’s frozen assets and is also dissatisfied with Tehran’s delay in responding.
The report adds that Washington wants Iran to respond quickly to U.S. demands under the new framework. However, significant disagreements remain between the two sides on several key issues, including the nuclear program, sanctions, and the release of frozen assets.
According to the report, despite ongoing negotiations, substantial obstacles still remain before a final agreement can be reached.
