The National Resistance Front, one of the opposition groups to the Taliban, has claimed that its forces carried out a targeted attack in Police District 5 of Kabul city, killing three Taliban members and injuring another.
According to a statement issued by the group, the attack took place on Sunday evening, 24 Jowza, in the Silo Road area of Kabul. The statement added that the operation was carried out at around 7:00 p.m., during which a Taliban military vehicle was also completely destroyed.
The National Resistance Front stated that no civilians or its own forces were harmed in the attack. The group emphasized that it will continue its targeted operations against the Taliban in various parts of the country.
Meanwhile, local Taliban officials have so far not issued any official response regarding the attack or the claims made by the National Resistance Front.
This comes as reliable sources have said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has recently increased pressure on members of the National Resistance Front inside Iran to refrain from carrying out attacks against the Taliban. According to the sources, this measure by the Islamic Republic is aimed at limiting the NRF’s operations against the Taliban.
