Officials from the Public Works Department of Kandahar have announced that currently, 36 public projects worth a total of 12 billion Afghanis are being implemented in the province. Among these, 24 projects are under the supervision of the Public Works Department, while 12 other projects are being carried out by the leadership office of the Taliban administration.
According to Azizur Rahman Sharif, these projects include the construction of the Kandahar–Spin Boldak railway line, the reconstruction of highways, and the construction of bridges and culverts in the southern regions of the country.
Some drivers have stated that the reconstruction of highways could make travel easier and reduce travel time.
However, details regarding the funding sources for these projects and how the budget will be monitored have not been provided, a matter that, according to observers, requires greater transparency from the Taliban administration.
