Deputy Taliban spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat has expressed his profound condolences over the passing of Shapoor Zadran, the former renowned fast bowler of Afghanistan’s national cricket team, describing his death as a significant loss to Afghan sports.
In his message, Fitrat said that Shapoor Zadran made exceptional and unforgettable contributions to the history of Afghan cricket and played a pivotal role in elevating the country’s profile in the sporting arena. He added that Zadran’s passing represents a major loss for Afghanistan’s sporting community.
The Deputy Taliban spokesperson also extended his condolences and sympathies to the late Shapoor Zadran’s family, the Afghanistan Cricket Board, and all those who admired and supported him.
Concluding his message, Fitrat prayed that Almighty God grant Shapoor Zadran a place in Jannat al-Firdaws (the highest level of Paradise), bestow patience and strength upon his family, and keep his memory alive while granting peace to his soul.
His statement comes as numerous officials, former leaders, athletes, and cricket fans both within Afghanistan and abroad have shared messages of condolence, describing Shapoor Zadran’s death as an irreparable loss to Afghan cricket.
